Run for a Reason

Running for a charity gives you additional motivation. It increases your focus on those long winter nights and when the training gets tough and it makes completing your marathon even more rewarding. Friends and family will get behind you and you’ll feel inspired every time you’re sponsored!

You are helping us raise money for our charities through your registration fees, buwelcome to run for any charity you choose. If you’d like to help us to raise even more money for our named charities, we’d love to have you on board as a Rotary fundraiser. Head over to MyDonate here (https://mydonate.bt.com/events/shakemarathon/386730) and sign up to Run For Rotary.

The Shakespeare Hospice

The Shakespeare Hospice provides care and support to people living in the South Warwickshire and the North Cotwolds with life limiting illnesses and also extends that care and support to those that matter to them.
They have a Day Hospice in Shottery for patients and carers and their Hospice at Home Service allows patients to be cared for in their home towards the end of their life. The Children and Young People’s Service offers respite care, transitional care for young people aged between 16 and 25 and specialist bereavement support.

Experience, Strength, Hope (ESH) Works in Warwickshire

ESH Works is an independent not for profit organisation providing mutual support in Warwickshire for people addicted to or affected by alcohol, drugs or other dependencies. The organisation has a team of volunteers who are able to pass on their own personal experience of addiction to other people who are currently in the same position as they once were.
The support is provided for the people with addiction problems and also their family members.

Lifespace

Lifespace exists to mentor young people, to reduce their distress, build their resilience and help them achieve more. We use a team of trained, DBS-checked and dedicated volunteers to mentor young people aged 9-19 on a one-to-one basis, for between 4 months and a year.
We mostly work in primary and secondary schools across South Warwickshire. We are a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for our outstanding contribution to the lives of young people since 2004.

The Stratford Samaritans

The Stratford Samaritans offer emotional support to anyone of age, 24 hours a day, every day of the year for people going through a personal crisis in their life which they would like to chare in confidence by phone, e mail or face to face.
The branch not only covers Stratford but other larger towns in the area like Warwick, Leamington, Alcester, Redditch and Shipston and the many dozens of smaller towns, villages and hamlets in between.
